Thinking Outside the Box: Critical and Analytical Skills

Why is it that some people find it easy to solve tough problems with simple solutions while others find this feat nearly impossible? You’ve no doubt looked at solutions to problems and said, “I should have thought of that.” But you didn’t. The answer is not just creativity, although that certainly helps. Rather, the power to find these creative solutions lies in our ability to search for and find facts that relate to the situation, and put them together in ways that work.
In 2013, neuroscientists from the University of Utah debunked the popular myth that people are either “right-brained” or “left-brained”. For many years, the assumption was that the personality or cognitive processes (ways of thinking) are thought to be cultivated on one side of the brain or the other giving rise to the notion that you are either a creative or analytical thinker. Research conducted by these neuroscientists using brain imaging showed that personality types have nothing to do with one hemisphere being more active, stronger or more connected. Simply put, everyone can think creatively.
This 2-day workshop aims to awaken the thinking skills that generally lie dormant in most people. Participants will be given practical tools and hands-on experience using creative thinking and be motivated to expand their cognitive horizons by using more creative thought in finding solutions.

At the end of this training, participants will be able to:
